Get Involved with Your Credit Union –
Serving as a volunteer on the Star of Texas Credit Union Board of Directors is a great way to participate in the democracy that differentiates credit unions from other financial institutions. Members of the Board of Directors have the duty and responsibility to set the direction of the credit union alongside management and according to the wishes of the membership and all pertinent laws and regulations. The Board sets all policies, ensures Star of Texas Credit Union maintains its sound financial condition, and helps direct what products and services will be offered. Regular meetings are normally scheduled the morning of the fourth Thursday of each month. Call for Candidacy
72nd Annual Meeting and Election Notice
The 72nd Annual Meeting of Star of Texas Credit Union will take place at 5:00 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2024. The meeting will be held online via Zoom and broadcast from its Main Branch location at 114 E. Huntland Drive, Austin, TX 78752. Registration information will be available on our website and Facebook page in the days leading up to the meeting.
One (1) position on the Board of Directors is up for election this year with the resignation of former Director, Mr. Anthony Chapa, as of August 10, 2023. The position is currently being filled by an interim director and member, Mr. Juan Estrada, as appointed by the Board on January 25, 2024.
The Nominating Committee, appointed by the Chair of the Board of Directors, consists of Robert Coronado (Chair), Ruby Segura, and Frances Laurel. The Nominating Committee will file its nominations for election with Manuel Rodriguez, Secretary of the Board of Directors. There are no nominees for re-election in 2024.
Information packets with nomination forms can be obtained by contacting David Van Buskirk of Star of Texas Credit Union at CEO@staroftexascu.org. These forms should be returned to the Secretary of the Board of Directors at 114 East Huntland Dr. Austin, TX. 78752 by midnight on March 15, 2024.
The election will not be conducted by ballot, and there will be no nominations from the floor if there is only one nominee for this position. A brief statement of qualifications and biographical data for each nominee will be approved by the Board of Directors.

Nominations must be postmarked or submitted no later than March 15th, 2024. Elections and terms will be announced at the Annual Meeting of the Membership of the Star of Texas Credit Union on April 25, 2024. The meeting will begin at 5:00 pm. Watch for more information to come!
