Help Shape the Future! – 2026 BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION

Star of Texas Credit Union is currently accepting letters of interest from members who would like to be considered for our Board of Directors. Two (2) Board of Directors positions are up for election at our 74th Annual Meeting.

Serving on the Board is a meaningful way to support your fellow members, strengthen our community, and help shape the future of Star of Texas Credit Union!  

Members interested in being considered are encouraged to submit a brief letter of interest by Friday, March 27, 2026. 

Basic eligibility requirements include: 

  • Member in good standing for at least two years 
  • At least 18 years of age 
  • Ability to attend monthly Board meetings and occasional training 

 
To express your interest, please email your letter to: management@staroftexascu.org.

Qualified applicants will receive a Board Application Packet and will be reviewed by the Board-appointed Nominating Committee.

At Star of Texas Credit Union, your security matters. Scammers are getting smarter — but so can you. Here are some simple ways to help protect your personal and financial information:

✅ Basic Fraud Prevention Tips:

  • Never share your online banking login, password, or PIN — not even with friends or family.
  • Ignore calls, texts, or emails requesting personal or account info. We will never ask for this information unsolicited.
  • Set up alerts through your online banking to monitor account activity in real-time.
  • Use strong, unique passwords for your financial accounts and change them regularly.
  • Avoid public Wi-Fi when accessing your banking information.

🚩 Common Signs of Fraud:

  • Unfamiliar charges or withdrawals on your account
  • Calls, texts, or emails claiming “urgent” account issues
  • Emails with typos, suspicious links, or fake-looking sender addresses
  • Requests to “verify” your account by clicking a link or calling a number

🛑 If You Suspect Fraud:

  1. Act fast. Contact Star of Texas Credit Union right away at 512.458.8253.
  2. Turn off your cards in the mobile app or online banking (if available).
  3. Monitor your account for unusual activity.
